Here you will find answers regarding the PostFinance App, with instructions and help with selected functions.

For your iPhone or for devices with iOS operating system:
In your iPhone’s “Settings”, scroll down to the bottom until you reach “PostFinance App”. Click on this app. Next, select the relevant language (German, French, Italian, English) under “Change language”.
For Android smartphones (from Android 13):
Go to “Settings” > “Apps” on your smartphone. Then search for the “PostFinance App” and tap on it. Set the language you want under “Preferred language” (German, French, Italian, English).
Up to version 12, the device language will be used by default on Android smartphones. If your smartphone is not set to German, French or Italian, English will be used as the default language. -
Download account documents from the last two years under “More” > “Documents”. You can save or share the documents on your smartphone.
The status enables you to identify whether you have already read the documents. If the document has a blue cross, it has been “read”. Otherwise, it is “unread”. By clicking on the magnifying glass icon, you can also filter by unread documents only or search for specific documents.

You can find eBill under the “Payments” menu item. There you will see outstanding bills, and you can switch directly to the eBill portal where all eBill functions are available.

Change a standing order:
Select the account for which you would like to see standing orders. To view these in detail, tap on the “Show pending orders” field.Once logged in, you will also find your standing orders at the bottom center under “Payments” > “Standing orders”.
Set up a standing order:
When you enter a new payment, you can switch from individual order to standing order under “Execution”. -
Tap on the required account. You will see your pending orders for the period displayed in the first section. In the top right-hand corner of the overview of orders, you will find a calendar. You can use the calendar to modify the displayed time frame for entered payments.
Once logged in, you will also find all pending payments if you go to “Payments” > “Pending individual orders or standing orders”.

Open the app. You can find the “Pay in online shop” function at the bottom of the app homepage before you log in. Scan the QR code and then approve the amount by logging in.
Alternatively, you can enter your details in the online shop. You will receive a push notification to approve your purchase.
If your 3-D Secure function is still not activated, you can do this in the settings by selecting “Account” or “Credit card” > “Details” > “Card settings”.

In the PostFinance App, select the item “Offers”. Under “Open products”, you will find the “Accounts” tile. In order to open a product, select “Open now” for the relevant account.

In order to move a tile, press and hold it for approximately three seconds. You can then move it to a new position.

You can update the app in the App Store or Play Store on your smartphone. To do so, open your app store and search for the PostFinance App.
If your app is not up to date, you will see the “Update” button. You can start the update process by tapping on this button.

If you have several users registered under your e-finance number, select the relevant account on the app’s home screen and then log in. You can also make it easier to enter your user ID and e-finance number by setting your own username.

You can modify the account name in the app itself: tap on the relevant account > “Details”. A pencil icon will appear in the top right, and you will be able to modify the account name.

Each payment processed automatically becomes a payment template. Under “Payments” > “+Payment”, the last payment made can be reused automatically by searching for the recipient name.
Is the template no longer up to date? Enter a new payment under “Payments” > “New Payment” with an adjusted amount or a new IBAN.
Alternatively, you can copy a processed payment from the entries. -
You can upload your proof of education/training directly in the PostFinance App under “More” > “Upload”.
You can send other documents to us via chat, post office or by post.

For regulatory reasons, the PostFinance App is only available in the Swiss App Store/Google Play Store. Please follow the detailed instructions to change the store:
- For the Apple App Store: The link will open in a new window support.apple.com
- For the Google Play Store: The link will open in a new window support.google.com
- Alternatively, you can create a The link will open in a new window second account in the Swiss Play Store.
If your smartphone doesn’t meet the system requirements, the PostFinance App won’t appear in the Play Store.

The PostFinance App also works abroad. WiFi or a mobile data contract with the relevant mobile provider is required. Any costs incurred depend on the provider.

If you have a foreign number, you can only register with your access data using a QR code or card and reader. The first time you log in, you will be asked for a mobile phone number. Select “Help” at the bottom and then “Skip this step”.
SMS functions, such as sending money to a mobile phone number or purchasing vouchers and topping up prepaid credit, are not possible with a foreign number.

No. There is no APK file available to download directly for the PostFinance App. These are not distributed for security reasons. Downloading the PostFinance App via a third-party provider is also not permitted.
