Employee mobility

As far as mobility is concerned, PostFinance is supporting its staff in two ways: first, it’s promoting eco-friendly mobility by coming up with incentives for employees to switch from using their own cars to public transport. Secondly, it gives employees ways to work where it’s most convenient for them, be it working from home, working from another location or in different co-working locations that PostFinance has either opened already or is planning to open. Jonas Jatsch, Compensation & Benefits specialist with PostFinance, outlines what measures are in place, and how employees can benefit.

All change: benefits for sustainable mobility

• Public transport: all PostFinance employees are entitled to a free SBB Half Fare Travelcard. Alternatively, PostFinance contributes a 10 percent discount to a GA Travelcard for frequent travellers. Additionally, all Swiss Post Group staff can use their staff voucher, worth 500 francs a year, for public transport tickets and travelcards.
• PubliBike: PostFinance staff can use the PubliBike bike sharing service, available in various Swiss cities, for a reduced annual price. What’s more, the first 30 minutes using a PubliBike are free of charge.

• bike to work: PostFinance regularly takes part in the “bike to work” scheme to encourage its employees to cycle to work. This scheme isn’t just about supporting sustainable mobility, it also comes with health benefits.

Working where it’s most convenient: staying mobile

• Working from home: working from home hasn’t just been a talking point since the coronavirus pandemic at PostFinance. However, as a recent staff survey shows, nearly all employees would like to work from home more than they did prior to the pandemic. PostFinance’s generous working from home policy allows employees to work from home all over Switzerland. At the same time, this is also allowing PostFinance to create new opportunities on the Swiss labour market seeing as the distance to the headquarters in Bern is becoming less of an issue for potential new employees.
• The ability to work anywhere: PostFinance is investing in additional locations to guarantee employees a shorter journey to work within Switzerland. These include co-working locations that can be used for meetings and workshops with colleagues and external partners, for instance at PostParc, located right by Bern train station , and a space that is set to open soon in Zurich-Oerlikon.
