Sustainability-related investment

You decide what values your portfolio reflects. PostFinance enables you to incorporate ESG aspects into your investment decisions in a targeted manner – either to reduce sustainability-related financial risks or to achieve a deliberate sustainable impact with your money. ESG stands for environment, social and responsible corporate governance.

What is sustainability-related investment? We distinguish between three categories:

Sustainable

These financial investments aim to have an environmental or social impact. This takes into account both sustainability-related financial risks and the impact on the environment and society – an approach known as “double materiality”. This means that, in addition to financial goals, you also aim to make an impact in terms of sustainability. This is achieved by investing in companies, projects or financial products that contribute to one or more sustainability goals, such as reducing CO2 emissions or promoting social justice.

Responsible

In the case of responsible investments, ESG factors that have an impact on investment performance are included in investment decisions in addition to traditional financial analysis. A common tool for assessing such sustainability-related factors is the ESG value. ESG stands for environment, social and governance. ESG values provide information on how well a company manages sustainability-related financial risks.

Conventional

The fundamental investment process focuses exclusively on financial key figures like profitability, liquidity and security. ESG factors are not taken into account in the investment process, and the investments do not aim to have a sustainability impact.
